We aim to collect only the information reasonably necessary for the relevant purpose.
We do not sell personal information and we do not use research-participation data for advertising or behavioural marketing.

2. Information we collect
The information we collect depends on how you interact with Fiscalisations.com.
2.1 Website enquiries and professional communications
When you contact Fiscalisations.com through a contact, research, support, framework or other enquiry form, we may collect information including:
- your name;
- business or organisational email address;
- organisation;
- job title;
- country or geographic scope;
- telephone number, where you choose to provide it;
- LinkedIn profile URL, where you choose to provide it;
- enquiry type;
- subject of your enquiry;
- research project, framework, publication, service or other matter connected with your enquiry;
- information contained in your message or project brief; and
- documents or other files that you choose to attach.
We use this information to receive, review and respond to your enquiry, communicate with you about the matter you have raised, assess potential research, collaboration or commercial opportunities, and maintain appropriate records of professional correspondence.
Enquiry information may be stored within the administrative systems of Fiscalisations.com and may also be transmitted to and retained within the email systems used to receive and respond to the enquiry.
Documents submitted through enquiry forms are stored as private enquiry material and are not intended to be made publicly accessible through the Website.
We do not use information submitted through enquiry forms for unrelated advertising or behavioural marketing.
Please do not provide sensitive personal information or confidential information in a message or attachment unless it is reasonably necessary for your enquiry.
2.2 Contributions, corrections and reference submissions
Fiscalisations.com may allow users to submit terminology, definitions, corrections, reference sources, comments or other professional contributions, including contributions to the Global Fiscalisation Terminology Reference (GFTR).
Depending on the relevant form, we may collect:
- your email address;
- your name, where provided;
- organisation or institution, where provided;
- country or jurisdiction, where provided;
- the proposed contribution or correction;
- suggested wording or definition;
- reference sources or official URLs; and
- notes submitted with the contribution.
We use contact information to review the submission, verify or discuss it where necessary, and communicate with the contributor about the submission.
A contribution may be incorporated into Fiscalisations.com research, reference materials or publications after review.
Personal contact details will not be published as part of a contribution unless this has been separately agreed with the contributor.
2.3 Research and survey participation
Fiscalisations.com may conduct research studies, surveys, questionnaires, experiments, user studies or other research activities through the Website.
Depending on the particular research project, we may collect and process pseudonymous or personal information including:
- a randomly generated participant, respondent or research-reference identifier;
- a research-session or resume token;
- selected language;
- country, age range, professional area or other demographic or profile information requested as part of the research;
- answers provided in questionnaires, surveys or research tasks;
- research materials, stimuli or variants presented to the participant;
- response accuracy;
- confidence responses;
- response, search, selection and completion times;
- image, document or content-viewing measurements;
- selections and changes of answer;
- scrolling and interaction behaviour;
- search sequences or task-navigation behaviour;
- first-interaction measurements;
- periods during which a research page is active, idle, hidden or inactive;
- validation attempts;
- recruitment, campaign, supporter or referral identifiers;
- device category;
- browser family;
- operating-system family;
- screen and viewport information;
- orientation;
- device pixel ratio;
- touch capability; and
- information required to generate research results, participant feedback or reports.
Not every research project will collect all of the information listed above. The information collected will depend on the design and purpose of the particular study.
Where a research activity requests direct identifiers such as a name, email address, telephone number or other contact information, the reason for collecting that information will be explained to the participant.
Research information may be used to:
- conduct and administer the relevant research;
- maintain the integrity and continuity of research sessions;
- analyse participant responses and interaction patterns;
- calculate research results;
- investigate behaviour relevant to the research question;
- validate research findings;
- produce aggregated statistical findings;
- prepare research reports, publications and presentations; and
- improve future research design.
Where research records are linked through a participant or session identifier rather than a person’s name, the information may still constitute pseudonymous personal data until it has been irreversibly anonymised.
Research data is not used for advertising or behavioural advertising unless a participant is separately informed and any legally required consent is obtained.
Organisations supporting, commissioning, sponsoring or helping to distribute a research project do not receive participant identities or participant-level identifiable research records merely because of that involvement, unless participants are specifically informed otherwise before participation.
2.4 Publication, purchase and service information
If you request or purchase a publication, licence, research service or other paid offering, we may collect information required to process the request or transaction, including:
- name;
- email address;
- organisation, where relevant;
- billing address;
- country;
- tax identification information where required;
- publication or service requested;
- transaction or order information; and
- related correspondence.
Payment information may be processed directly by a third-party payment provider.
Fiscalisations.com does not intend to store full payment-card details on its own systems where payment processing is handled directly by an authorised payment provider.
2.5 Technical and security information
Like other online services, the Website and its hosting infrastructure may receive technical information required to deliver, secure and administer the Website.
This may include:
- Internet Protocol address;
- request date and time;
- requested resource;
- browser or network information;
- server logs;
- security events; and
- diagnostic information.
Technical information may be processed for Website operation, security, fraud and abuse prevention, troubleshooting and system administration.
Where a research system or Website analytics system is designed not to retain raw IP addresses in the relevant dataset, server or infrastructure logs may nevertheless independently contain IP or network information for operational or security purposes.
2.6 Website usage analytics and document interaction
Fiscalisations.com may operate a first-party Website analytics system to understand how the Website, research pages, publications and downloadable materials are used.
Depending on the analytics functions enabled, we may record information including:
- page views;
- visits to research-project pages;
- visits to publication pages;
- document and publication downloads;
- the date and time of the interaction;
- the type or category of page viewed;
- the document or publication associated with a download;
- a pseudonymous visitor identifier; and
- limited technical information required to distinguish visits and reduce duplicate or automated traffic.
The analytics system is designed to measure Website usage and content engagement rather than to identify individual visitors.
For this purpose, technical request information may be used temporarily to create a pseudonymous visitor identifier. Raw IP addresses are not stored as part of the first-party analytics dataset for visitor measurement.
The pseudonymous visitor identifier is periodically rotated and is not intended to provide a permanent identity or to track a visitor across unrelated websites.
Analytics information may be used to:
- measure Website traffic;
- understand which pages and publications are used most frequently;
- measure research-project and publication interest;
- measure document downloads;
- analyse trends over daily, weekly or monthly periods;
- improve the organisation, presentation and usefulness of the Website; and
- support decisions about future research, publications and Website content.
Fiscalisations.com does not use this first-party analytics information for advertising, cross-site tracking or behavioural advertising.
Logged-in administrative activity and known automated traffic may be excluded from analytics where technically practicable.
3. Browser storage, cookies and similar technologies
Fiscalisations.com may use strictly necessary cookies, first-party browser storage or similar technologies where required to provide Website or research functionality.
Fiscalisations.com does not use advertising cookies or behavioural advertising technologies as part of its research activities or first-party Website analytics unless this is expressly disclosed.
Research activities may use browser storage to support functions including:
- maintaining a research or survey session;
- remembering research progress;
- allowing an interrupted session to continue;
- maintaining session integrity;
- temporarily retaining answers or task state; and
- supporting timing or interaction measurements required by the research.
The particular storage used may vary between research projects.
First-party research storage is not used to track participants across unrelated websites or to create advertising profiles.
The current first-party Website analytics system is designed to operate without third-party advertising identifiers and without creating a persistent cross-site visitor profile.
Users may clear browser storage through their browser settings. Clearing storage during an active research or survey session may prevent that session from being resumed correctly.
Where a Website function or research project introduces third-party content, non-essential cookies or another storage or tracking technology, we will provide any information or consent mechanism required by applicable law.
4. Purposes and legal bases for processing
Where legislation such as the EU GDPR or UK GDPR requires a legal basis for processing, the applicable basis depends on the activity concerned.
Research participation
Research participation may be based on participant consent where consent is the appropriate legal basis for the relevant research project.
Where consent is used, participation is voluntary and consent may be withdrawn for future processing, subject to our ability to identify the relevant research record and to any information that has already been irreversibly anonymised.
A particular research project may rely on another lawful basis where appropriate. Where relevant, this will be explained in the participant information for that project.
Professional enquiries
Professional enquiries and communications may be processed on the basis of our legitimate interests in receiving and responding to professional communications.
Where an enquiry relates to a possible contractual relationship, information may also be processed in order to take steps at the requester’s direction before entering into a contract.
Our legitimate interests include the effective operation of Fiscalisations.com and the ability to receive, assess and respond to legitimate professional, research and collaboration enquiries.
Contracts and purchases
Information required to supply a publication, licence, commissioned service or other contracted offering may be processed to enter into or perform the relevant contract.
Website usage analytics
Where permitted by applicable law, limited first-party Website analytics may be processed on the basis of our legitimate interests in understanding the use of Fiscalisations.com, measuring the use of research and publication content, improving Website functionality and content, and maintaining reliable usage statistics.
Where applicable law requires consent for a particular analytics technology or storage mechanism, that technology will not be used without the required consent.
Legal obligations
We may process or retain information where necessary to comply with applicable taxation, accounting, legal, regulatory or dispute-resolution requirements.
Website and information security
Technical data may be processed where reasonably necessary for our legitimate interests in maintaining the security, integrity and proper operation of Fiscalisations.com and preventing spam, automated abuse and malicious activity.
5. Research and survey participation
Participation in public research studies, surveys and questionnaires conducted through Fiscalisations.com is voluntary unless expressly stated otherwise in connection with a separately agreed professional engagement.
Eligibility requirements for a particular research project, including any minimum age requirement, will be stated in the participant information for that project.
Participants may leave a voluntary research activity before completing it.
The information collected, purpose of the research, relevant incentives, intended use of results and any material project-specific privacy information will be explained where appropriate before or during participation.
Participants should not provide directly identifying or sensitive personal information in open research-answer fields unless the particular research project expressly requests that information and explains why it is required.
Where a participant receives a research reference or participant identifier, that reference may be used to contact us about the corresponding pseudonymous research record.
Research data may be analysed in pseudonymous and aggregated form.
Once information has been irreversibly anonymised so that an individual can no longer reasonably be identified, it is no longer treated as identifiable personal information.
6. Research results and publications
Aggregated or irreversibly anonymised findings from research conducted through Fiscalisations.com may be:
- published on Fiscalisations.com;
- included in research reports;
- presented in publications, presentations or professional briefings;
- provided to research supporters, commissioning organisations or clients;
- used in comparative analysis; or
- used in subsequent related research.
Published research outputs will not intentionally identify individual participants unless the participant has expressly agreed to be identified.
Where a research project is commissioned, sponsored or supported by another organisation, the role of that organisation and any material difference in how participant information will be handled will be explained in the applicable participant information before participation.
Commissioned or confidential research is not published, listed or sold unless public release has been explicitly authorised or forms part of the agreed purpose of the commission.
7. Service providers and disclosures
We may use service providers where reasonably necessary to operate Fiscalisations.com and provide requested services.
Depending on the service concerned, personal information may be processed by providers of:
- website hosting and server infrastructure;
- WordPress-related technical services;
- email hosting and email delivery;
- file storage and backup;
- payment processing;
- security and spam-prevention services;
- IT services; and
- professional, legal or accounting services where access is reasonably necessary.
We use Cloudflare Turnstile on certain forms to assist with distinguishing legitimate users from automated submissions and to protect the Website against spam, abuse and malicious activity.
We disclose only information reasonably necessary for the relevant service or purpose.
We do not sell personal information.
We do not provide enquiry contact information, participant-level research data or first-party analytics data to third parties for their own advertising or direct-marketing purposes.
Information may also be disclosed where required by law, a lawful regulatory request or a binding legal process.
8. International processing
Fiscalisations.com is operated from Australia.
Information submitted through the Website may therefore be processed or stored in Australia and may also be processed by service providers in other jurisdictions.
Cloudflare and other infrastructure or technology providers may process technical information through infrastructure located outside Australia.
Where the EU GDPR, UK GDPR or another applicable data-protection regime governs an international transfer, we will apply any transfer mechanism or safeguard required by the applicable law.
9. Data retention
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected and for applicable legal, contractual, accounting, security and research-integrity requirements.
Professional enquiries
General professional enquiries that do not result in an ongoing engagement will normally be retained for no longer than 24 months after the last substantive communication.
Where an enquiry results in a contractual or continuing professional relationship, related information may be retained for the period reasonably required to administer that relationship and comply with applicable legal, taxation, accounting and dispute-resolution requirements.
Enquiry information retained within email systems is subject to the applicable email-retention process in addition to the Website record-retention process.
Contributions
Personal contact information associated with a reference contribution, correction or submission will normally be retained for no longer than 24 months after the submission has been resolved, unless there is a continuing reason to communicate with the contributor.
The non-personal substantive content of an accepted contribution may be retained as part of the relevant research or reference work after associated contact information has been deleted or anonymised.
Research data
Pseudonymous research records are retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes of the relevant research project, including analysis, validation, publication and research-integrity requirements.
The applicable retention period may vary between research projects depending on the nature, duration and purpose of the research.
Unless a different period is stated in the participant information for a particular project, pseudonymous research records will normally be retained for no longer than five years after completion or publication of the relevant research project.
At the end of the applicable retention period, research records will be deleted or irreversibly anonymised unless a longer period is required by law or reasonably necessary for an unresolved legal or research-integrity matter.
Website analytics
First-party Website analytics information is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to analyse Website usage and longer-term content trends.
The analytics retention period may be configured administratively and older analytics information may be deleted automatically or manually.
Analytics records may also be reset or deleted before the normal retention period where they are no longer required.
Because the analytics visitor identifier is periodically rotated, the system is not designed to maintain a permanent visitor identity.
Transactions and accounting records
Transaction, invoicing and accounting information may be retained for the period required by applicable taxation, accounting and other legal obligations.
Browser storage and backups
Research-session information stored in a participant’s browser may be deleted automatically after it is no longer required and may also be removed through browser settings.
Backup copies may persist temporarily according to normal backup-retention cycles before being overwritten.
10. Data security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect information from unauthorised access, misuse, interference, loss, alteration or disclosure.
Access to detailed research records, enquiries, administrative records, analytics information and data exports is restricted to authorised persons.
Documents submitted through enquiry forms are treated as private correspondence and are not intended for public publication.
Where attachments are accepted through an enquiry form, the Website uses protected storage and controlled access mechanisms designed to prevent those files from being served as ordinary public Website media.
No Internet transmission, online service or electronic storage system can provide an absolute guarantee of security.
Spam and abuse prevention
We use Cloudflare Turnstile on certain forms to distinguish legitimate users from automated submissions and to protect the Website against spam, abuse and malicious activity.
Cloudflare Turnstile processes technical signals required to perform this security function. These may include information such as the visitor’s IP address, browser or user-agent information and other security-related client signals.
Turnstile is used for security and bot detection rather than advertising or behavioural profiling.
Cloudflare states that Turnstile does not access, store or transmit the contents entered into Website forms.
The Website also uses additional first-party anti-spam measures, which may include hidden form fields and other technical validation mechanisms.
Further information about Cloudflare’s processing is available in Cloudflare’s Turnstile Privacy Addendum.
11. Access, correction, deletion and other rights
Depending on the legislation applicable to you, you may have rights to:
- request access to personal information held about you;
- request correction of inaccurate information;
- request deletion of qualifying personal information;
- request restriction of certain processing;
- object to certain processing;
- receive certain information in a portable format;
- withdraw consent where processing is based on consent; and
- lodge a complaint with an applicable privacy or data-protection authority.
For pseudonymous research records, we may require the relevant research reference, respondent identifier, session identifier or equivalent information in order to locate the record.
Where a research project is intentionally designed without collecting direct participant identifiers, we may not be able to locate a particular research record solely from a person’s name or email address.
Likewise, first-party Website analytics are not designed to allow us to identify an individual visitor by name or email address.
We will not collect additional identifying information solely in order to identify an individual where applicable law does not require us to do so.
Rights relating to identifiable personal information no longer apply to information that has been irreversibly anonymised so that the individual can no longer reasonably be identified.
Requests may be submitted to hello@fiscalisations.com.
12. Australian privacy enquiries and complaints
Privacy enquiries or complaints may be submitted to:
Please provide sufficient information for us to understand and investigate the matter.
We will review privacy complaints and respond within a reasonable period.
Where the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and Australian Privacy Principles apply, individuals may also have rights under that legislation.
Information about Australian privacy rights and complaints is available from the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
13. EEA and UK participants
Where the EU GDPR or UK GDPR applies to our processing, individuals have the rights provided by the relevant legislation, including applicable rights to request access, correction, erasure or restriction of qualifying personal data, to object to certain processing, and to lodge a complaint with a competent supervisory authority.
Privacy requests relating to Fiscalisations.com may be submitted to hello@fiscalisations.com.
14. Children and age restrictions
Fiscalisations.com is primarily intended for professional, informational and research purposes.
Individual research projects may impose minimum-age or other eligibility requirements.
Where a particular research activity is restricted to adults or another defined participant group, this will be stated in the participant information for that project.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through a research activity that is expressly restricted to adults.
15. Automated research calculations
Research conducted through Fiscalisations.com may use automated calculations to produce measurements such as:
- research scores;
- timing measurements;
- accuracy results;
- comparative measures;
- percentiles;
- confidence or consistency measures;
- result summaries;
- eligibility for particular research-report formats; or
- research incentive outcomes.
Unless participants are expressly informed otherwise, these calculations form part of the research experience and are not used to make decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects concerning participants.
16. External links and embedded content
Fiscalisations.com may contain links to websites operated by third parties.
Those websites operate independently and are subject to their own privacy practices.
Where third-party content is embedded directly into Fiscalisations.com, we will take reasonable steps to use appropriate privacy configurations and provide any information or consent mechanism required by applicable law.
17. Direct marketing
Fiscalisations.com does not use research-participation data for direct marketing.
Information submitted through a professional enquiry is not added to an unrelated marketing list merely because an individual contacted us.
First-party Website analytics are not used to create advertising profiles or to target individuals with behavioural advertising.
If an optional subscription, newsletter or marketing service is introduced, any legally required choice or consent will be obtained separately.
18. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy where our services, research activities, technologies, service providers or legal obligations change.
The current version and its effective date will be published on this page.
Material changes will not retrospectively change the lawful basis on which previously collected information was processed.
